Compost Combo Promo
Here’s a great example of how to co-promote both a product and program. In a joint celebration of America Recycles Day, NYCompost worked with Glad® to spread word about Glad’s recently released compostable bags.
The bags disintegrate at municipal compost locations as they are made with approximately 40% vegetable-based materials and, though stronger than traditional product, are made with only 6.5% plastic.
Here’s how the two-pronged joint promotion worked. First, in a cooperative effort to “connect the city to the soil,” NYCompost was seen on the streets of New York in November with two Glad®-wrapped freight trikes. And, second, in a special promotion conducted throughout the month of November, area residents were also invited to enter to win a no-cost NYCompost pick-up by tweeting “CompostPickup@Glad2Wasteless.
